Curtains Down

This document is the result of my session prep notes, heavily beautified and enhanced with maple syrup. It is a prototype of a CfB-esque mystery without an overriding conspiracy. 

Curtains Down is about an impromptu group of Searchers (amateur detectives looking for Ambrose Small to get the $50,000 reward) in 1920s Toronto, Ontario, Canada, Ontario. Curtains Down is based on the real event of Small's disappearance in late 1919 and is partially inspired by a subplot of "In the Skin of Lines" by Michael Ondaatje. The searchers try to navigate Prohibition-era Ontario to discover the truth behind the disappearance of Small and stay ahead of other searchers. Players reach back into characters' lives as fresh immigrants, returning soldiers, or disgraced socialites
